When it comes to genocide Israel learned from the best. This is absolutely sickening on so many levels.
Didn’t Israel already have a “deal” with Hamas? They broke it!
Basically a deer with a human face. Despite probably being some sort of magical nature spirit, his interests are primarily in technology and politics and science fiction.
Spent many years on Reddit before joining the Threadiverse as well.

It’s interesting how AI is the thing that caused so many people to suddenly go “wait, I actually love it when the government tells me what I’m allowed to do with my computer.”
Modern LLMs are trained on highly curated and processed data, often synthetic data based off of original posts and not the posts themselves. And the trainers are well aware that there are people trying to “poison” the data in various ways. At this point it’s mainly an annoyance to other humans when people try.
One wonders if a similar meeting was once held regarding the Warsaw Ghetto.
I think WWI and WWII could be considered “World War Part 1” and " World War Part 2."
There have been stupider border disputes between Canada and the US.
Frankly, I think symbolism is useful here. If the Americans are going to play stupid games then I’m fine with a little pageantry to draw attention to those stupid games.
It’s bottoms all the way down.
No, I think I’m going to go ahead and judge others, because who else is going to?
You’re really analogizing the Catholic Church, one of the largest and richest organizations on the planet, to a hummingbird?
Yeah. Wow, he gave them a car. I guess it’s something, but the Catholic Church has a really deep Karmic hole they need to dig their way out of and this is just a teaspoon of dirt.
That’s not what “should” means.
So let each country be powerful enough to rule themselves. I don’t see the net benefit of having a single global “ruler.”
Why does the world need to be “ruled”?
No, I’m saying that Bitcoin’s designed so that there will always be some miners that are slightly unprofitable. It’s worth mining for most of the miners, but not the ones that are just over that edge. The edge automatically adjusts so that there will always be some that are just over it.
If you want to interpret that as “Bitcoin is always unprofitable to mine”, then sure, you can interpret it that way. Profitability varies from mining operation to mining operation, though. Not everyone will be over that threshold, and even if by some strange sequence of events everyone was over it the difficulty would adjust downward soon enough.
I generally expect a headline to be about something notable. “Sky remains blue”, “Boiling water said to be hot”, and so forth are ridiculous headlines IMO.
This is exactly as designed. Bitcoin mining is intended to becomes less profitable the more people do it, using market forces to control the amount of mining that’s being done. Headlines like this are kind of ridiculous.
Yeah, it’d be a three day special military operation. Just like when Russia took Ukraine.
Americans are extremely averse to casualties and pain. We could make an invasion hurt. I doubt they’d be able to endure a genuine war that genuinely enters their homeland. Not for long.
And even in the most insanely charitable world where we assume he is “trolling”, he’s still saying an intensely offensive thing to Canadians without any reason other than “lulz.” That’s the most charitable possible interpretation and it’s still awful.
Of course, most Americans don’t realize it’s an intensely offensive thing. That’s a major part of the problem.
He is not trolling. He is genuinely threatening our sovereignty, and we are taking that seriously. The United States is an enemy nation.
I’m a fan of the Machete Order.
There may be some spoilers in that blog post, it’s been a while since I read it, so here it is in summary:
Phantom Menace is omitted because it’s the weakest of the prequel trilogy and everything that happens in it is summarized at the beginning of Attack of the Clones anyway. If you want to be a completionist then watch it between Empire Strikes Back and Attack of the Clones.
There’s good reasons for following this order, but it’s hard to describe them without spoiling anything. Basically, Lucas assumed you’d watched the original trilogy when he made the prequels, so it’s got a bunch of spoilers in it that the Machete Order preserves quite nicely.
