I expect housing scarcity to become the next problem that gets solved somewhere in the world while the US pretends it’s unsolvable.
To solve that you need to antagonize NIMBYs so I’m not hopeful.

Several factors including massive protectionism (700% tariffs anyone?) and government policies explicitly meant to keep prices high. This is, above anything else, a self-own by the Japanese government.
Yeah fair enough.
The weird part is that they’re not; NYT does a lot of good journalism, sometimes even on Palestine, but then they go around and pull shit like this.
That’s true, but it’s still up to them whether they want to get arrested over social media comments somebody else made.
Y’all should actually read the post. They’re clear that they don’t want to do this but fear extreme repression by the German government, and they even listed examples of what exactly they’re trying to avoid. I’m no Israel apologist, but I’m convinced.
Yes, but the point is that someone is going to make that stuff so taking your emissions and putting them in someone else’s backyard isn’t exactly something to brag about.
They are still the world’s largest contributor by far.
I mean yeah because they’re doing all the manufacturing the West offloaded on them. When you read about emissions in America or Europe going down remember that a big part of that is simply them shuttering heavy industry.
Good to know Haaretz is still pissed at Netanyahu.
My man/woman/compadre, objecting to strike busting isn’t purity testing; it’s enforcing the bare minimum standard to ensure that at the end of all this America isn’t run by a duopoly between Reagans and Hitlers like it is now.
Idk man I could see this exact title appearing on an Onion article.
That’s true, I meant that Haiti was historically actively sabotaged—rather than simply neglected—by the West. In hindsight I should’ve worded that differently.
Oh, that part isn’t directly the West’s fault beyond historical responsibility. I meant to say that Western sabotage, not just neglect, is what led to Haiti’s present state, not that they’re being sabotaged right now. I should’ve worded that better.

Oh shit this does not bode well for Syria.
Wow, he really managed to outdo the war on terror. That’s fair, but I don’t know of any indication that he had the capability or willingness to do anything that flashy again, so America overthrew him after he’d been mostly pacified.
The strat here is to simply not provide services to the israeli military. It’s that simple; I mean it’s literally the IDF nothing good could come out of helping them with anything.
